Semantic Markup

Semantic markup uses tags, class names, and ids to reinforce structural meaning. Being able to structure a website with semantic markup is important as it will allow anyone with knowledge in HTML to be able to manage a website. Using different tags such as bold, big, strong will describe the way the text will look while using tags such as < h1 > and < p > will give structure to the site. Having a website with proper semantic markup will also help with ranking on different search engines.

Accessibility

Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act is an amendment to the Workforce Rehabilitation Act of 1973. This requires that any electronic or information technology must be accessible by anyone with a disability.

Search Engine Optimization

This is the having a website that is natural, organic, or has earned results which will help its rankings in the different search engines. SEO can also targetimages, video search and academic search as well. Another big piece of SOE is making sure the site is responsive. If your site is not fast and does not work properly then the search engines will not populate your site in search results.
