What is Social Media?
In an article from lifewire.com titled “What Is Social Media? Explaining the Big Trend” the author breaks down the definition. The “social” in social media is mostly self-explanatory. It is interacting with others by sending and receiving information. The “media” part of social media is the “instrument of communication” as described in the article. In this case, it would be the internet, the television, and other forms of communication. “Social media are web-based comunication tools that enable people to interact with each other by both sharing and consuming information” (Nations).
