Programming languages hold significance importance in the tech world today. Without it many of the technical developments that we have achieved would not be possible. Early history of programming languages dates to the early mechanical computers to modern tools for software development. The early programming languages were very specialized where people relied heavily on mathematical notations. As research in compiler theory grew in the 20th century it led to the creation of more high- level programming languages like the ones commonly used today that used more accessible syntax to communicate instructions than the complex route it had been following.
The first notable high-level programming language was Plankalkul, which was created by Konrad Zuse between 1942 and 1945. The first high-level language that was with compiler was created by Corrado Bohm in 1951 for his PHD thesis. The first commercially available language was Fortran that was created in 1956 by John Backus at IBM. Today there's a wide range of different programming languages that have distinct funtions that they are usused for. We have come very far with the development of programming and I will be talking more about different languages and it's key prominence.
