Graphics cards are an essiential component to all computers expecially gaming computers and mining machines. Graphics cards are circuit boards that control the graphics on your computer screen. They can come in all shapes and sizes with different capabilities on how well they render graphics.
Cryptocurrency is a virtual currency that you use computers to "mine." To mine cryptocurrency your computer solves difficult mathmatic algorithiums and solving these algorithims earns the miner bitcoins. The more power you have in your computer the more algorithums you can solve meaning the faster you can earn bitcoin. The way miners get power into their computers is adding multiple GPUs or graphics cards.
At then end of 2017 there was a cryptocurrency craze where bitcoin was valued at almost $20,000. This spike in value lead to graphics cards being sold out, and being sold for well above MSRP.
