RISC vs CISC and the role they play in the market

In our present society, we have been encountered with Complex Instruction Set Computers (CISC) and Reduced Instruction Set Computers (RISC) in about "100% of [our] personal and business computers"(Saunders). Both are instruction set architecture, which are part of the processor and "necessary for creating machine level programs to perform any mathematical or logical operations. [Also, it] acts as an interface between hardware and software [by] preparing the processor to respond to the commands like execution, deleting etc given by the user"(Electronichub.org). Some of us may not be familiar with it, or what's the concept behind (The Advantages and Disadvantages), the purpose of both processors, and what's the trending?
