What is computer programming language?
Programming Language is an artificial language that can be used to control the behavior of a machine, technically a computer. This website provides a brief history of programming language, and specify the spec of each language.
Programming languages are used to facilitate communication about the task of organizing and manipulating information, and to express algorithms precisely. Some authors restrict the termprogramming languageto those languages that can express all possible algorithms; sometimes the termcomputer languageis used for more limited artificial languages.
Thousands of different programming languages have been created, and new ones are created every year.
Purpose of programming languages
The ultimate purpose of programming languages is to provide a computer instructions. As such, computers follow exactly what they're told to do, and can't understand the code the programmer intended to write. The combination of language definition, the program, and the program's inputs must fully specify the external behavior that occurs as the program is executed.
