Kingdom Hearts is a series of action role-playing games developed and published by Square Enix. It is a collaboration between Disney Interactive and Square Enix. It is under the direction of Tetsuya Nomura, a longtime Square Enix character designer. Kingdom Hearts is a crossover of various Disney properties based in a fictional universe. The series centers on the main character, Sora, and his journey and experiences with various Disney, Square Enix and Pixar characters. The heroes of the series clash against the multiple incarnations of the antagonist, Xehanort. The series consists of thirteen games available for multiple platforms, and future tites are planned. Most of the games in the series have been positively received and commercially successful. As of Feburary 2019, the Kingdom Hearts series has shipped more than 30 million copies worldwide.
The Legend of Zelda is a fantasy action adventure video game franchise created by Japanese designers Miyamoto and Tezuka. It is primarily developed and published by Nintendo. The series' gameplay incorporates action adventure and elements of action RPG games. The series centers on Link, the elf-like player character and chief protagonist. Link is often given the task of rescuing Princess Zelda and the kingdom of Hyrule from Ganon, an evil warlord turned demon who is the principal antagonist of the series. The plots commonly involve a relic known as the Triforce, a set of three golden triangles representing the virtues of Courage, Wisdom, and Power. Since the original Legend of Zelda was released in 1986, the series has expanded to include the 19 entries on all of Nintendo's major game consoles, as well as a number of spin-offs. An American animated TV series based on the games aired in 1989 and individual manga adaptations commmissioned by Nintendo have been produced in Japan since 1997.
God of War is a mythology based action adventure video game franchise. Created by David Jaffe at Sony's Santa Monica Studio, the series debuted in 2005 on the Playstation 2 console, and has become a flapship title for the Playstation brand. The story is about Kratos, a Spartan wawrrior tricked into killing his wife and daughter by his former master, the Greek God of War Ares. Kratos seeks to rid himself of the nightmares by serving the other Olympian gods, but soon finds himself in confrontation with them due to their machinations. Years after the destruction of ancient Greece, Kratos ends up in ancient Norway with a young son named Atreus. The two journey throughout several realms to fulfill a promise the the boy's recently deceased mother. Santa Monica has developed all main entries, while Ready at Dawn and Sonly Online Entertainment developed the three side games. SIE has published all games except the mobile phone installment; it was published by Sony Pictures Digital. There are two eras in the series.
